I have only taken a hundred or so car pics, as my Z has been looking like a pile of crap. It takes a different style for auto pics it seems to me. I've been shooting mostly the above ground graveyards here in New Orleans, trees, flowers, that sort of thing. Oh, and a lot of our cats and dog. Get yourself a big CF card, 256 Meg at least. On max quality and size you're looking at 3-4 Megs per picture. Learn to use RAW format up front, you'll find you can do a lot more with RAW than .jpg, and the sooner you get using it, the better your pics will be. It gives you a lot more leeway after the shot for pic manipulation. RAW pics will eat up 5-7 Megs each. Also, get a tripod, even if it's a cheap one. Make or buy a remote. I made mine from some micro switches, a cell phone headset, and an old car alram remote. There are several sources on the web for schematics. Check out [ www.dpreview.com ]'s forum for the 300D. A good place to learn, and to learn about stuff you didn't even know to ask about. Hope you enjoy the DRebel,
